Amanda Blake
Amanda Blake was an American actress who appeared in many TV and film productions. Her most famous role was the one of Miss Kitty Russell on the TV series 'Gunsmoke.' In addition her other roles, she also had a reputation for acting in the television series such as 'The Red Skelton Show', "Tattletales," and "The Edge of Night'. She also appeared in many other movies that included Stars In My Crown, Duchess of Idaho. Cattle Town. Crusoe,?"About Mrs. Leslie",?The Adventures of Hajji Baba, High Society?? and???The Boost? and The Boost?. A former telephone operator, Blake was an avid animal enthusiast. Her husband Frank Gilbert and she were among the first individuals who successfully bred Cheetahs. American actress, Sheila E. Gilbert was also a co-founder of Arizona Animal Welfare League. Blake was a former committee member for the Humane Society of the United States. Blake was inducted to the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Blake was given a Courage Award by the American Cancer Society.
